As the prime centre for exploring Wensleydale, Leyburn attracts walkers, cyclists, campers, history buffs, waterfall enthusiasts, anglers, naturalists and anyone who appreciates a breathtakingly beautiful combination of rugged moorland and fertile valleys.
In Wensleydale, you are never far from idyllic walks, superb scenery and historic allusions.
For example, Campbell’s store in the centre of Leyburn is literally two minutes stroll from the start of 'The Shawl' - a renowned walk with stunning views and romantic (if mythical) links to tragic Mary Queen of Scots.
Campbell's produces and regularly updates a tourist guide to help visitors make the most of their time in the dales.
